FREESKIER Magazine Pages with JPV
JPV was able to successfully set a new world record for highest air in a superpipe on skis, launching 8.04 meters (26 ft, 3 in) above the deck of a pristinely cut, 22-foot superpipe. The world record was previously held by Peter Olenick of Carbondale, CO; Olenick set a record of 7.58 meters (24 ft, 11 in) on January 31, 2010, during the first-ever X Games High Air contest in Aspen, CO.

Here are some photos from a shoot I did last March with the Giro half-pipe team in Tignes, France. Simon won the X Games that year and redid his winning run, still drunk from the night before, so the cinematographer could get the shoot. It was quite honestly flawless and he was really run. So classic. Simon is such a creative and humble dude. Happy to see him land some pages in this magazine.

I recently covered the 2015 Hood to Coast event, in which Nike participated in. I worked with Conscious Minds, a great team who I’ve worked with in the past several times. The Hood to Coast event is a 24-hour long relay race held every year in Oregon, usually on the Friday and Saturday prior to the Labor Day weekend. It is among the biggest and longest relay races in the world. For walkers and runners, participating in the Hood to Coast event is an item on their bucket list.
Together with a small team in a van, we followed the Nike team’s journey through the race. We slept in Vans, and got hit straight on with a hurricane. Here are some wonderful shots from the said event.
